What is the Ruling on Suicide in Islam?

Mentally ill who are not conscious of what they are doing will be judged according. People who are born mentally ill will have a test after their death but Islam doesn't disclose what test but Allah swt knows best. However, depression im not sure about but i highly doubt suicide because of depression will be forgiven but Allah swt knows best. Depression and mental illness are two different things. In depression a person is aware of their action but is in stress and dislike for his/her environment. Mental illness is sickness which either born with or developed in life. Comparing two together is like comparing Earth to the Sun. If the person is aware of his actions than he is liable for them. Though if the person is you dont do it, just pray 5 times a day because i highly doubt this world will last another 5 years.
