Jehovah's Witnesses: Since Many Teach That Jesus Went To Hell . . .?

. . . in order to preach a judgment of eternal torment to the ones there, isn't that superfluous? I mean, what is the point in telling people who are in a place of eternal hellfire and torment that they are in a place of eternal hellfire and torment? Don't they know that already? Or more to the point, don't they FEEL that already?
